Waste Tech-Investing in Recycle Track Systems to Make Our Cities More Sustainable
As companies increasingly prioritize sustainable operations, they are looking for smart waste management solutions that reduce their environmental footprint. Couple that with an industry that is ripe for disruption and you have an equation begging for innovation. That’s why the Partnership Fund has invested in Recycle Track Systems (RTS), a waste and recycling management company that offers technology to optimize hauling services with on-demand or recurring collection services to cut down on collection time, reduce emissions, alleviate congestion and improve operations and transparency.
The $66 billion waste management industry has been plagued by opacity and inefficiency. RTS is using its advanced technology platform to tackle these challenges and improve sustainability for the cities in which they operate. The company partners with local independent haulers and outfits their vehicles with sensor technology to track the routes and disposal of commercial waste.
In New York City, commercial companies can benefit from this data-driven approach and demonstrate adherence to new waste regulations and requirements. For companies with more aggressive sustainability goals, RTS’ consulting services and data analytics can inform approaches to increase efficiency and recycling levels.
In the face of climate change, more customers are demanding innovative, transparent approaches to waste management. The livability of our cities will depend on the market’s response. RTS’ model is currently working in five cities — New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Chicago and Boston — with commercial clients such as Barclays Center, Citi Field, Whole Foods Market and WeWork.
The Partnership Fund is proud to partner with RTS to scale its solution to meet the demands of a changing industry and move New York toward a more sustainable future.
