Investment Statement

Closed Loop Partners and a consortium of investors, including the Partnership Fund for New York City, acquired a majority stake in Balcones Resources (formerly Sims Municipal Recycling). This investment bolsters New York City’s efforts to reduce waste and positions Sims to expand its recycling operations while supporting industrial jobs in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Circular Services is the largest privately held recycling business in North America, formed by a merger with five Closed Loop companies, including Balcones Resources (formerly Sims Municipal Recycling), a Brooklyn-based recycling processor in which the Fund invested.
