BioAccelerate NYC Prize

Funded academic biomedical research with high commercial potential to catalyze life sciences in New York City.

Investment Partnership

In 2009, the Partnership Fund established the BioAccelerate Program to fill the gap in proof-of-concept funding for research at the area’s academic institutions and increase commercial bioscience spinouts at a time when most venture capitalists were focused on funding later stage businesses. Academia soon internalized this model, raising over $80 million to fund proof-of-concept work for the commercialization of academic research. The program made its final investments at the end of 2015, deploying $5 million to fund 20 scientists.
