Closed Loop Partners and a consortium of investors, including the Partnership Fund for New York City, acquired a majority stake in Sims Municipal Recycling. This investment bolsters New York City’s efforts to reduce waste and positions Sims to expand its recycling operations while supporting industrial jobs in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Description 

Sims Municipal Recycling is processor and marketer of curbside recyclables, serving New York City and other municipalities in the NY-NJ metro region, as well as Palm Beach County, FL.  The company handles more than 600,000 tons per year of post-consumer metal, glass, plastic and paper.  SMR’s principal New York City processing center is in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
