Grameen America

Granting business loans to women living in poverty in New York City.

The Fund’s $3 million loan supported Grameen’s first U.S. operations in New York City, and helped demonstrate that Grameen’s microlending model from Bangladesh could be effective in the U.S. During our investment period, Grameen lent $382 million to over 155,000 low-income women in New York City.
